To ensure high reliability and validity, evaluators should:

  • Focus strictly on case-relevant information

  • Avoid including irrelevant or biased data

  • Conduct assessments well in advance (ideally more than 15 days before a court date)

  • Maintain appropriate licensure, certifications, and continuing education
