Isabel is a 29-year-old second-generation Cuban American cisgender woman. She is married to Manuel, who is also Cuban American, and they have two children, David (8) and Carmen (4). Isabel sought therapy at the recommendation of her cousin, who found it beneficial for addressing family issues. She reports feeling discouraged about her life, perpetually tired, and stressed. Although she struggles to get out of bed at times, she does so out of a desire to care for her husband and children. Isabel identifies her marriage as a significant source of her unhappiness, yet her husband is unwilling to participate in counseling.
