Data from EHR can be utilized to manage chronic patient conditions, examine patient populations, and ensure preventative care (Thurston, 2014). Paper documentation was not capable of achieving the same outcomes.

Opus is the current, main EHR system used by Vila, implemented in 2008 (Capella University, n.d.).
Other systems are in use but none are integrated with Opus (PACS, CPOE, Pharmacy system, and Lab system) (Capella University, n.d.).
