IKEA is a privately owned global discount furniture manufacturer with 451 retail locations in 61 countries, and it has plans for continued expansion (Inter IKEA Group Financial Summary FY21, n.d.). Approximately 25% of IKEA’s products are manufactured in China (Ringstrom, 2021). In 2021, the United States was the second-largest market for IKEA products (Simionato, 2022).

Applying Graphical Data to IKEA’s Business Context

To adapt to current challenges, IKEA has adopted several strategies, including the use of the flatpack method, investment in Flexport digital freight forwarding, and reconsideration of U.S.-based production facilities.
