Organizations rely on diverse business roles, each essential to smooth operations and long-term success. These roles, from executive leadership to entry-level positions, involve specific tasks that align with the company’s goals and structure. A clear understanding of these roles can help individuals shape their career aspirations effectively. Business roles are often determined by company owners or stakeholders and are integral to achieving organizational objectives (“20 Essential Business Roles within an Organization,” n.d.).
Aqua Irrigation Force is currently hiring a full-time daytime shift supervisor. The role requires a minimum of two years of management experience, a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, exceptional communication skills, strong leadership qualities, and proficiency in time management, computers, phones, and basic office tasks. Additionally, candidates must complete assessment tests during the hiring process. Responsibilities for this position include supervising staff during shifts, reporting to senior management, resolving issues, delegating tasks, ensuring safety and smooth operations, managing inventory, evaluating employee performance, and providing necessary training.
In Ohio, the term “wage” is defined as the compensation owed to employees for their work, excluding permitted deductions and allowances as per Section 4111.01 of the Ohio Revised Code. Employers are required to comply with minimum wage laws and ensure employees receive overtime pay at 1.5 times their regular rate for hours exceeding 40 per week, as mandated by the Fair Labor Standards Act (“Section 4111.01 – Ohio Revised Code | Ohio Laws,” n.d.).
For 2023, Ohio’s minimum wage is $10.10 per hour for non-tipped employees and $5.05 per hour for tipped employees. These rates are set to increase to $10.45 and $5.25, respectively, on January 1, 2024. Businesses with annual gross receipts above a specific threshold must adhere to these regulations (“Ohio,” 2023).
Legally required employee benefits aim to provide financial security and mitigate hardships caused by illness, unemployment, or workplace injuries. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, these benefits include programs for retirement income, medical care, and disability compensation (Grove, 2019). Aqua Irrigation Force complies with all federal, state, and local laws regarding employee benefits. Full-time employees are eligible for Medicare, Social Security, workers’ compensation insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance, and family and medical leave.
The company is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment, ensuring all employees receive fair compensation and benefits. Aqua Irrigation Force values its employees and fosters a collaborative, family-oriented workplace culture.
